Rocky….IMR4064 and A4064 isn’t even in the ballpark as far as a (measured weight) replacement. I have no experience with 5744, but Accurate’s 5744 description points are as follows: Double-base *extremely fast burning* *extruded powder* for rifle and magnum handguns. It’s used in magnum handguns and large capacity black powder cartridges like 45-70, 45-120 etc.So, this tells me that that 5744 has some fairly unique properties. But…burn-rate-wise here’s the close ones. IMR4227H110 (e.g. 410 ga shotgun and 44 mag)A1680 (this is a great *Ball* powder for with good results in WIN 243 and 7.62×39, which are small to medium cartridges)H CFE You’re going to have to work up loads, meaning, burn up a ton of primers to find a substitute load, or look in a reloading manual for your cartridge. Great for all things .30-06! 110-220gr pills, anything goes!! I personally push 178GR Hornady ELDX @ 2750 with 50gr of this stuff. It’s clean, accurate, and it meters well in my chargemaster.

This is the only powder I have found for my Sako 338 Win Mag that lets me stack 225 grain bullets at 100 yards. It was a miracle when I found it.

THIS STUFF PERFORMS AS WELL AS THE “IMR” VERSION & FLOWS EASIER THROUGH THE POWDER MEASURE & TRICKLER. CHARGE WEIGHTS ARE EQUAL TO THE ORIGINAL DU-PONT PRODUCT, BUT BURNS CLEANER DUE TO A SLIGHT CHANGE IN THE CHEMICAL FORMULATION. WORKS THE BEST IN BARRELS LENGTHS 22″ TO 24″. FUNCTIONS PERFECTLY IN AUTO-RIFLES CHAMBERED IN EITHER .308 WIN / .30-06 SPRINGFIELD, ESPECIALLY WHEN USING 150-165 GR. BULLETS !!!!!!

Meters well in my Lee powder dispenser. Short cut extruded as description says. Best group fired was 2 shots in the same hole with the 3rd touching at 100 yards. Most other groups are touching as well with maybe a flyer, most likely me. Will come back for more. Very consistent and intermediate loads seemed to work best.

This powder is listed in most every cartridge in my loading manual for a good reason. It works well in every cartridge from .223-280 Rem. It is to slow for my .204.
